MORE PICTURES

The Ramakrishna eThembeni Home is a joint venture between the community of K Section, in Kwa Mashu and the Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa. This home was initiated for the care of terminally ill patients, largely resulting from HIV/Aids and cancer. It was a much needed facility in the greater Inanda, Ntuzuma and Kwa Mashu (INK) region.

The Home (K Section, Kwa Mashu) was declared open on 2 September 2006. This Home comprises a twenty bed ward for females, kitchen and dining hall, laundry and nurses office. These facilities will be managed by the Ramakrishna eThembeni Home Committee under the leadership of Mrs B J F Mhlongo. The Home has been built to provide end of life care for those afflicted by the AIDS pandemic. It must be noted that South Africa is one of the worst afflicted countries in the world.
